The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Learning Technologies Specialist who will report to the Learning Technologies Program Manager, Global Learning & Development and support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of an effective Learning & Development Technologies business unit.

The Learning Technologies Specialist will work closely with business unit stakeholders, the Global Learning and Development team, and technology vendors to investigate, implement and support various learning technologies. This person must have strong project management skills and be proficient at multi-tasking and prioritization. This motivated, proactive team player will also build relationships throughout Holland America Group organization.

  • Support learning technologies used across HA Group including Shipboard LMS, Shoreside LMS, KeySurvey, Impact 2.0, Virtual Training Software Applications, Articulate Rise

  • Documents and updates learning technology processes for the Learning Technology systems; ensures consistent processes for maintaining learning records

  • Researches vendor capabilities by comparing vendor offerings and services for organizational wide use to meet the current and future training needs of the enterprise.

  • Leads projects to support process improvements.

  • Creates business case for implementation of new technologies.

  • Implements new learning technologies.

  • Communicates the progress of any assigned project or initiative to the appropriate audience.

  • Responsible for providing content solutions driven by technology to the Global Learning and Development department, as well as internal Brand Operations and Group Services clients.

  • Tool administration

  • Actively involved in managing, researching, supporting and enabling learning with the use of learning technology.


  • 2 - 5 years experience in a Learning & Development department and vendor management

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Technological proficiency; working knowledge of LMS and basic software programs/applications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong desire to learn and implement new technology as it becomes available
