Manager, Photo Retail Operations

The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Manager, Photo Retail Operations who will be responsible for the management and oversight, as well as the support and development of onboard photo retail personnel and programs. This position reports to the Director of Photography and Video, Holland America Group.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a leadership role in managing all aspects (revenue management, product & service development, employee development and operations) of Photo-Retail operations onboard Princess Cruises vessels.

  • Direct and oversees the activities of the shipboard teams, while collaborating with shoreside support in order to achieve identified revenue goals and business objectives.

  • Reviews key KPIs and metrics on an ongoing basis in order to measure productivity and goal progress.

  • Monitors and evaluates direct and indirect report employees performance, while providing ongoing guidance and coaching support.

  • Identifies trends and recommends corrective action or sharing of Best Practice across the fleet.

  • Drives Department initiatives that contribute to long-term operational and financial excellence.

  • Collaborates with Strategic Analysis and Finance teams to develop annual operating, capital, and headcount plans as well as have ownership for monthly forecast submissions and variance explanations for each area of responsibility.

  • Liaises with Director, Photography & Video in the communication, development and execution of strategic plans.

  • Identifies and makes recommendations to improve upon the efficiency of operational systems, processes, and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulates and implements departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitors adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures in order to identify risk.

  • Remains current on consumer trends and market/industry conditions in order to identify, evaluate, recommend, and oversee the implementation of new product/service and business development opportunities to maximize the revenue potential of assigned areas.

  • Act as the escalation point for operational issues encountered onboard within these functional areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or at least 10 years of equivalent work experience required

  • 3-5 years of direct management experience of mid to large size teams in a leadership or strategic role.

  • Remote and multisite management experience.

  • Project management skills required.

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills.

  • The ability to take on multiple tasks as well as creatively solve problems.

  • Travel may be required up to 20% including domestic and international locations. This includes occasional visits to ships in the fleets.
