Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Specialist, Global Projects . This position reports to the Director, Office Strategy & Professional Services and supports Managers at Holland America Group both in Seattle and Santa Clarita.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director, Office Strategy & Administration Operations with the development and implementation of programs for the new Holland America building. Partners with internal departments and external vendors for all Santa Clarita and Seattle department reconfigurations. Uses independent judgment when reviewing the financial impact to the bottom line, keeping costs to a minimum

  • Closely monitors project/program timelines, budgets, and results. Helps to identify risks that could impede project success and implements contingency plans to ensure success

  • Vendor and contract management of existing and future requirements for Holland America Group. Review contract agreements, renewal schedules and costs to determine future needs. Renegotiate expenses and contract lengths to maximize company objectives and budgetary goals

  • Manages deadlines and deliverables to ensure all elements of projects are delivered on schedule while maintaining flexibility and providing updates on project plans when changes arise

  • Works closing with Supply Chain, to develop and advance the completion of the RFP process for assigned projects

  • Oversees financial responsibility and performance for assigned projects

  • Develops, monitors, maintains, and adheres to budgets while looking for ways to control spending and reviews and approves invoices in Markview

  • Works with the Manager of Administrative Services to reevaluate the budget monthly and re-forecasts when necessary

  • Tracks and collects data for assigned programs: participates in the analysis of the results; prepares reports and makes recommendations as needed

  • Implements and manages a new database system to house all Holland America Group vendors, contracts, contract lengths and costs, providing visibility to expiring contracts and auto renewals

  • Coordinates multiple departmental projects, tasks and assignments to facilitate completion within established timeframe. Ensuring deliverables are met within pre-established guidelines while confirming all elements of the projects are delivered on schedule. Alerts management to factors which my negatively impact the project/task completion

  • Has authority to make sound business decisions when identifying necessary information to reach department and business objectives. Recognizes opportunities to improve and develop existing processes and coordinates integration efforts with Third Party systems

  • Oversees Copier program for Holland America Group, maintaining the service agreement, software upgrades and day to day operational responsibility

  • Delivers exceptional customer service that aligns with Princess Cruises core values; maintaining a professional and positive attitude which exemplifies excellence to satisfy the customer’s needs.

  • Resolves difficult situations with tact and professionalism, identifies trends to recommend new or adjusted policies or procedures that will enhance the work environment

    Requirements

  • Professional level of knowledge equivalent experience to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate’s degree

  • Five plus years’ of experience in project management, office administration, and operational knowledge

  • Must have the ability to think strategically both short and long-term with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills, requiring widespread knowledge of various computer applications, including Word, Excel, and Markview

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with internal and external customers

  • Ability to lead by example, ensuring all associated processes and objectives are achieved and in line with the company’s goals
