The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Sr Compensation Analyst who will support global Shipboard compensation programs.

The Holland America Group includes Holland America Line and Seabourn (both headquartered in Seattle, Washington), Princess Cruise Lines (headquartered in Santa Clarita, California), and P&O Australia (headquartered in Sydney). The Holland America Group operates a combined total of 41 cruise ships with over 36,000 employees worldwide. This position will be located in our Santa Clarita, CA offices.


  • Consults with department managers and conducts desk audits as necessary to develop well written, accurate and legally compliant job descriptions.

  • Ensures that the job description database is current and maintained in an organized manner.

  • Conducts job evaluations and benchmark studies to ensure that pay levels are externally competitive and internally equitable.

  • Prepares well written and organized summary documents and proposals based on analysis.

  • Designs new incentive compensation plans and evaluates the effectiveness of existing plans.

  • Manages performance management systems and processes; identifies and recommends potential system upgrades and process enhancements.

  • Analyzes performance management data to identify trends, anomalies or issues. Recommends action plans based on analysis.

  • Prepares summary and detailed reports for management and the Compensation Committee on a regular basis.

  • Keeps apprised of applicable federal, state, local and international compensation related laws and regulations to ensure Company compliance.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in the area of compensation, human resources or related area.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Access a plus.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

  • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
